Since Hot Shot is right in front of our hotel, we figured we would have breakfast here. Looked good, looked home made. My kind of place. It reminded me of the little places I have visited in Louisville, KY where the owners run the joint and care for the customers. This is what I love about St. A - its got that service, flavor and very nice people. Anything you order here is going to be delicious. We tried each others food and it was all good! There was a Turkey, Bacon, Avocado Panini, Waffles, a Breakfast Panini and a Chicken Salad sandwich consumed and it all was divine. The Chicken Salad was my favorite although my Turkey Bacon Avocado Panini was totally spectacular I did steal more than my allotted one bite from that Chicken Sammie. This is a place I will not miss when we come back!

Egg potatoe cheese wrap was good, but egg croissant - just ok. Coffee is wonderfull, staff is friendly and location is awesome. Would go back overall.

Stopped in for a sandwich about 30 minutes before they were closing for the day. They have some great options on the menu. Everything sounded delicious, but we decided to split the vegetarian sandwich, they had me at goat cheese. We got it to go and brought it back to our B&B to eat for our late lunch. The flavors were delicious red pepper pesto, goat cheese, tomato, avocado, doesn't that sound delicious? But the bread was even better. I don't know if it is made there or another place locally, but you could tell it was fresh. The worker (maybe owner?) could have been a tad friendlier, but for a quick bite to eat the sandwich exceeded our expectations.

One of my top St. Augustine recs for out-of-town visitors. They have a cupcake happy hour! Does life get any better?? Well... It does when you order the Hubba Panini. Turkey, apple slices, datil pepper jelly. Delicious!

*Dirty tables *"Chef" had a puss on her face and was NOT friendly (hint, customers = employment) *Other staff were kinda friendly, but wandered around with aimless chores *Panini is served with a few pickles that look like they were sliced with a laser and stuffed into a one oz. plastic cup. *The food was average, I had the skirt steak panini and my wife had the cuban panini. The kids had PB&J, which they enjoyed .... took forever to come to the table. *Looks like they throw a discount to the tourists riding the trolleys, guess that sends people their way {?} *Super slooooow service *Stale cupcakes....almost frozen! They have the word Bakery in their name, interesting. *They reuse the one gallon containers for lemonade with a quick rinse in the hand-washing sink. *The woman who I think was the owner was scooping ice cream and using her bare finger to push it off the scooper. *Zero Datil pepper baked goods *Gotta say Yelp was wrong on this one *Folks, this was just our experience .... we truly hoped for better. *I don't think we would return :(

Hot Shot's is truly a favorite of mine. As a Theatre Major at Flagler, I pass Hot Shot's at least six times in any given day walking up and down Granada St. to the theatre. It never disappoints. At first, I always stopped in to get a coffee and a bagel in the mornings. Then I started going there for lunch, when she makes the most delicious meals you could imagine. My favorite is the hummus pita wrap with fresh vegetables. It's a whole load of goodness in one little pressed pita. The food is simple, except when it's not. The proprietor is also a professional baker who does wedding and special event cakes, so the desert case is always full of interesting baked goods and even heat-able meals. It's too fun to watch her do a wedding cake consultation with a bride. The woman who owns Hot Shot's is a wonderful lady and she's really good to Flagler students. She'll often let us keep tabs and she'll always give us discounts. That alone makes me want to give her all of my business. If she's nice to us, all I want to do is be nice to her. So, please, go check this place out! It's great!

As a vegetarian finding food can be a challenge in the South, but the vegetarian panini was fantastic! Freshly pressed and all the ingredients tasted really fresh. Their desserts here are also relaly great, my favorite are the themes cupcakes.

Love, love, love their Datil Pepper Sauces. Just stopped there today to stock up for summer on our annual road trip from Daytona to Pennsylvania bringing son home from college. Sherry and her crew will take good care of you AND she will ship sauce to you when you run out.

St. Augustine never fails to surprise. I know it can get a little chintzy, but beneath the tourist veneer there are some truly authentic experiences to be enjoyed. We chose Hot Shot out of sheer convenience. In a way, it's the opposite of everything St. Augustine. Shabby on the outside, surprisingly good inside. We were served by Meghan who's super friendly and engaging. My wife and I both had an egg scramble which was good, served with thick cut slices of home baked whole wheat bread slathered with datil orange preserve. That alone made the experience amzing Then she brought out the datil sauces, calibrated by heat. That took the eggs to another level. My wife also added a portion of sweet potato pancakes, served with a caramel sugar sauce on the side. Pancakes and sweet things are not my thing, but this was one of those experiences that instantly induced food coma. Amazing. We got to talk to the owner and I was struck by her passion for excellence. Doesn't matter that her storefront is modest. Her food is awesome. Food with integrity. Five stars.

We got stuck in the rain coming from the museum and ran across into this cozy place! Try the Leon panini- it's delish! The turkey panini is great as well. Both had me and my bf saying "wow" after the first bites! Datil pepper challenge wasn't too bad either! Also the manager is very sweet!

Visited this place based purely on how convenient it was to the Casa Monica. The employees are friendly and if I had to recommend a breakfast option I would go with the croissant sandwich. The one thing they could work on is building some sort of ventilation system. It gets extremely smokey inside!

Lame. My wife had some waffles that came with rotten bananas. My panini was just a grilled sandwich, not a panini. The girl at the country rolled her eyes when my wife was trying to decide what to get out of the dessert case. I saw you! One more thing, they use crappy mustard.

Oh my god why didn't I find this place sooner? We've been to Saint Augustine so many times and had mediocre breakfasts and Hot Shot was right there under our noses. The breakfasts are amazing and served by the nicest southern couple. They make their own datil hot sauce and it's hypnotically delicious. They are DOG FRIENDLY!! They love dogs and have a deck behind them.

I had breakfast there last week and it was very good. They have a Datil pepper sauce they make on site it is great. They sell to the public. One novelty is chocholate covered Datil Peppers, eat one and you get your pic on the wall. It is a little hot. They close early at 4pm

Stumbled upon this cafe after a stop at the Lightner Museum and so glad we walked in to check it out. It's convenient to the Museum, Casa Monica and Flager, tucked down the little side street. Very friendly service and good food at very good prices. They have enough choices that it satisfied all 10 in our family group, who have a wide variety of tastes. I'm the vegetarian of the family and I was very pleased with the hummus wrap with avocado and tomato. It was flavorful and filling and I've been craving another one ever since. With a nice desert selection, too, this would also be a great stop for a snack. It will be on our list now to visit every time we are in St. Augustine.

Yumification.®©™ Panini with sausage and cheddar was killer. The sausage was spiced to a delight. The side potatoes reminded me if moms stew. Older guy, white hair, grandfather type, was exactly the personality you want to interact with. He's a smoothie newbie who makes a large into an xLg. The "overage" goes to random customers...hi, I'm random! I tried the prior smoothie overage and then got my own. That overage went to Alicia who was just on duty for 3 hours and was sweeter than Alabama porch tea. Even the chef was cool. Location? Pshhht...Ideal! Watch the college babes strut by or taunt the endless parade of tour trolleys - they turn RIGHT IN FRONT. Best ppl watching cafe in a few 1000 miles of cross country traveling.

Needed a quick bite before out Flagler College tour and this is right across the Flagler statue Awesome grilled cheese on homemade bread Veggie panini also good although the avocado didn't look so fresh Tasty smoothie : mango strawberry Lemonade - wasn't fresh squeezed, maybe Not the season, I think she mixed Motts apple juice in it... Too many small shops and cafés to try in St augestine to come back since it was just all right ...but it was quick and we got to our tour on time!

Well, my photo is up on the wall. My husband thought it'd be fun to try the chocolate-covered datil peppers (there's a Wall of Flame or something happening now). I stupidly agreed and downed one after posing for the "hey, you're about to die!" photograph. Most Mexican restaurant salsas are too spicy for me... I really should have known better. Our story ends with me in tears, licking a napkin to try to get the fire out of my mouth. The guy behind the counter was INCREDIBLY nice and gave me an ice-cream on the house to help with the burn. Food was great (I had the veggie panini), service was excellent. As much as I hated that datil pepper, I'm glad I did it. Now I never have to do it again.

The food was pretty good. I got a biscuit sandwich and it was real ham! My one little gripe was that putting that sandwich on paper made for a sandwich with paper slapped on it. Use something else please. The service wasn't great either. I don't think they cared I was there.

A terrific stop for breakfast. I was driving through with a friend and we stopped in here for a bite. It was small, and could not have been more enjoyable. I had a breakfast panini, and it was hot and melted to perfection. My friend had the quesadilla and loved it. They make their own salsa, which really impressed me (being from Texas). The staff seem to enjoy what they do, and were friendly and relaxed. I definitely plan on returning here. What a great breakfast stop!

What an amazing little place! Total life-saver for my ridiculously long days of classes at Flagler as an off-campus student who doesn't have a meal plan -- the food is cheap and nutritious and delicious. The woman told me today that if I ever don't get up to the $5 minimum for credit transactions, she'll run a tab for me because I'm a Flagler student. What an awesome little place. Yes, yes, yes.

Wow. Best brownie I've ever had. Ever! Nothing in second place is even close. And terrific ice cream too. Sandwiches being eaten at next table looked incredible. But I chose to blow my calories on the aforementioned.

Stopped here for lunch after work today. The people there were friendly and inviting. Prices were excellent, food was delicious. Only problem: The "extra large" size on drinks is not very big, but that seems to be common all of the local eateries I've been to. Sorry St. Augustine, biking all day in this heat makes me thirsty!
